Happy New Year everybody! May this be your year to grow and become the best version of yourself! For the last month, we've all been reflecting on how 2017 has been a year of personal or professional progression, change, and challenges. As we look forward to a new year we think about what we want to accomplish and the type of person we want to be. New Years Resolutions is a great opportunity to reflect and look ahead, for the whole family! Studies show that goals are more achievable when you can actually see them! Here's a fun, new years art activity for toddlers that gets your little one(s) exercising their motor skills and allows them to express their wants in a creative manner! Create a collage! Engage in a conversation that brings up all the great things that happened in 2017! How wonderful was thanksgiving? Highlight actions that you value in your child and want to see more of, praise them openly about it, and encourage similar behavior. Find pictures or colors that reflect the feelings we love to feel; what makes us happy? Is it ice-cream? Sharing our toys? Going to the beach? Bed-time stories? What feelings do we not like so much? What makes us sad? And what can we do to feel better? These conversations help to recognize emotions and how to express them in different ways. At the end, you and your toddler(s) will have made a refrigerator-door worthy piece of art! Hi There!
